About Me
Brooke McNish was born and raised in Michigan. She attended Western High School where she cheered and graduated in 2018. Brooke joined the United States Navy shortly after in January of 2019. Brooke served for 4 years in Norfolk,Virginia, as an Operation Specialist. An Operation Specialist role is mostly out to sea, overseeing radar systems to ensure the safety of the ship. They’re responsible for locating, tracking, identifying, and tracking potential targets. In the future, Brooke plans to enroll into college to build a career in a creative field. Some of Brooke’s hobbies include painting, reading, being out in nature, photography/film, music and movies. I grew up with Gabbie. I believe she was one of my greatest influences, she taught me to always be who I am no matter what. Gabbie was authentically herself, she carried love and kindness and had the best sense of humor in any situation. I am joining The Gabbie Scheffer Foundation because it’s close to my heart. To build and be a part of a community who cares to put a stop to the poison fentanyl has caused to many lives. This foundation is important to me. I believe it’s a space where education on drug addiction can be shared and learned to create change. I hope while in this position I can bring to the team great support and expansion in education. I've struggled with alcohol myself and I've gone to rehab and completed a year long SARP program. I have now been sober since October 1st, of 2023. Sobriety is a journey within itself and looks different for everyone. Anyone out there on their sobriety journey I encourage you to continue.
